Since the winter semester 2024/2025, German as a foreign language courses have been offered for international employees as part of internal training.
The courses are aimed at all international employees at RUB – in science, technology and administration.
International employees must be able to communicate in German in a wide variety of work contexts. The courses within the event series therefore focus on different target groups and linguistic challenges. Depending on language level and goals, there is a wide range of courses covering the core language requirements. The courses are therefore designed to be independent of each other in terms of content. You should choose the course that best suits your needs.
The courses cover the following content and objectives:
For employees in an English-speaking work environment, it is important to be able to successfully navigate everyday university life in German. This is essential to achieve social integration at RUB. (Courses 1 and 2)
Being able to communicate with the administration in German is extremely useful for international managers and employees in their everyday work – this applies in particular to oral communication. (Course 3)
Being able to understand technical texts and presentations in German is a decisive advantage for international employees, setting them apart from other employees. German and English are used multilingually and complement each other in communication. (Course 4)
Teaching in German places particularly high linguistic demands on international employees. The communication processes and didactic challenges are very complex, so that systematic linguistic guidance is required. (Course 5)
