German courses according to the Ruhr-Fellowship programme by the UA Ruhr

As part of the University Alliance Ruhr (UAR), international students from the USA are usually hosted at Ruhr-Universität Bochum every three years.
Highly motivated students from selected US universities are invited to take part in the programme.
The programme is supervised by the International Office. It comprises an eight-week stay in the summer and offers international students the opportunity to get to know the academic, cultural and economic life in the Ruhr region as an economic and scientific region.

RUB ran the programme for the third time in 2023.

An important part of the programme is the German courses offered by the Department German as a foreign language at the ZFA.
The courses are tailored to the language skills and needs of this target group. Lessons take place in small groups, usually with four lessons per day.
The focus is on communication in everyday life and regional studies.
